Biography
"Out of Time"
Prior to the events of October 7, 2013, Kate attended a Vortex Club party where she became intoxicated. When a video of her actions during her intoxication was uploaded online via YouTube, news of eventually reached her family. Mr. and Mrs. Marsh were contacted by Principal Ray Wells of Blackwell Academy. Wells explained to them the nature of the video featuring Kate.
Feeling her fears about sending her daughter to Blackwell were now justified, a troubled and angry Mrs. Marsh sends an e-mail to her daughter about the issue on October 7, 2013. Mrs. Marsh asked that Kate call them once her classes were over and hoped that Kate did not "bring shame on the family" with her actions.
She told Kate that she would pray for her and she wanted Kate to pray for forgiveness from God. When Max Caulfield reads her mother's message, she believes Kate is alone without the support of her parents and worries that Kate will be disowned by them.
When Kate attempts to commit suicide on the girls dormitory rooftop, Max may mention Mrs. Marsh as a way to bring her down from the ledge. Max believes her mother would be devastated by her death. However, upon the mention of her mother, Kate becomes angry and tells Max that "she doesn't know her mother".
She claims that her mother already believes that that she's seduced by Satan and was on the "fast track to hell". Wanting to prove her mother right, Kate turns and jumps off of the roof the moment Max tries to step forward and take her hand.
