Reconversion Project Leapers

Nilin squares off with two Leapers under control of an Elite S.A.B.R.E. Force Guard.

"Citizens of Neo-Paris. The Leaper threat has been addressed. Thanks to the Reconversion Project, they now serve you faithfully. From sanitation to S.A.B.R.E. Force, they have become productive servants of society. The Reconversion Project by Memorize. Humane responses to barbaric perils."
Scylla Cartier-Wells[1]

The Reconversion Project is a project founded by Memorize meant to enslave and brainwash the Leapers.[1][2]

History[]

Creation[]

In an attempt to get a handle on the growing Leaper population, the Memorize corporation created technology that would tame and make docile the Leaper when caught by S.A.B.R.E. Force. Scylla Cartier-Wells, in collaboration with Sebastian Quaid, intended to use the Leapers as laborers for everyday tasks in maintaining Mid and High Paris (such as sanitation) and law enforcement with S.A.B.R.E. Force. Leapers wore semi-transparent helmets (similar to the ones used in La Bastille fortress) that cover their eyes and attached to their senwalls. This allowed S.A.B.R.E. Force authorities to control them. Neither parities appeared to consider the human rights violations being committed with the proposal and began to implement the Reconversion Project some time during 2084.

Events of Remember Me[]

During Nilin Cartier-Wells's attempt to gain access to the main offices of Memorize so that she could remix Scylla, she was blockaded by Elite Enforcers using reconverted leapers as their backup.[2] Though she was able to defeat them, she wouldn't realize the magnitude of the project until after she remixed her mother, Scylla. After her escape, Nilin returned to the La Bastille fortress to rescue Bad Request.[3]

While there, she faced more reconverted Leapers overheard her mother announce that the Reconversion Project was officially shutdown, despite the vocal protests of Quaid, who planned on using the leapers as a way of creating a single consciousness using his own mind. Quaid's plans, however, were foiled by the combined efforts of Nilin and Johnny Greenteeth who later killed him. With the Bastille destroyed by its self-destruct system, the Reconversion was officially stopped.[3]
